He experiments with a diverse range of materials - resin pigments, marble dust, earths, and even found objects - often preparing his own pigments to cultivate a uniquely textured and tactile surface.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span data-contrast=\"auto\">More recently, May\u00e9s has begun creating large black and white works by engraving into encaustic wax on prepared canvas panels. These statement pieces echo the playful figurative forms he is known for whilst bringing a fresh perspective.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{\">\u00a0<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span data-contrast=\"auto\">His hallmark subjects, the whimsical \u201cBig Heads,\u201d evoke childhood imagination and introspective narrative.
